Build an organisation worth meeting

Give purpose a structure, resources and internal pressure.

Prepare an authored institution for your setting, then decide how its people and plans affect play.

Start with its public character

Choose type, scale, visibility, legality and ideology. Establish a useful starting point for a guild, order, league, movement or another supported organisation.

Read how the organisation works

Review leadership, succession, hierarchy, ranks, membership and recruitment. Use the duties and privileges as preparation rather than a complete individual NPC roster.

Give activity and disagreement a role

Consider resources, bases, relationships, divisions and current operations. Turn the secrets, staged plans and hooks you accept into choices at your table.

Keep campaign judgement with you

This is a static dossier. Reactions, advancing plans, reputation changes and resource consequences remain decisions to apply yourself or handle in separate products.

From a brief to an institution

Frame. Generate. Review. Keep.

Quick and Deep use the same authored dossier, with more controls visible in Deep.

01 · Set its public character

Choose organisation type, scale, visibility, legality and ideology. Quick retains previously selected Deep values.

02 · Add structure and pressure

Deep exposes material capability, influence, hierarchy, recruitment, age, reputation, unity and relationship, division and operation counts.

03 · Review the complete dossier

Check ranks, bases, operations, relationships and agendas for your fiction. Qualitative labels and authored references do not prove coherence or simulate a living faction.

04 · Revise and save deliberately

Use section rerolls or JSON editing. Review the combined result and public profile, then save manually through your existing DCC account session.

What the tool provides

An organisation dossier to develop and use.

Eight capabilities support authored institutions, selective revision, account records and reviewed sharing.

Quick and Deep organisation briefs

Quick exposes type, scale, visibility, legality and ideology. Deep adds material, structural and relationship controls. Both create the complete authored dossier and retain hidden settings.

Guilds, orders, leagues and movements

Prepare guilds, criminal organisations, secret societies, military or academic orders, merchant leagues, rebel or civic movements, noble houses, arcane societies and organisational cults.

Leadership, hierarchy and membership

Review a leader, succession, command path, ranks, duties, member archetypes and recruitment. Scale adjusts rank and base counts within a bounded authored structure.

Resources, bases and external relationships

Consider qualitative wealth, military and magical capability, assets, constraints, bases, allies, rivals and enemies. Review names and relationships for your setting.

Operations, divisions and private agendas

Prepare current operations, internal blocs, public and secret goals, staged plans, secrets, problems and adventure hooks. Plans and progress are static preparation material.

Locks, scoped rerolls and structured editing

Retain selected sections, reroll a dossier area or edit JSON. Review the combined record and public profile after every revision; validation does not prove narrative coherence.

Manual account records and prior results

Save through your existing DCC session. Search names, open or duplicate saved organisations and reopen up to ten earlier result snapshots for a revised record.

Reviewed public copies and selected preparation

Copy public-profile JSON or the full DM dossier. Prepare one combat-capable operation in Combat PRO with a generic team reference, objective and dormant complication.

Choose the institution’s role

Prepare the kind of group your setting needs.

Organisation types and presets supply bounded authored structure, rather than complete governments, religions or a live faction simulation.

Guilds and merchant leagues

Prepare recruitment, membership obligations, resources and public work. Review trade interests and relationships without expecting numerical accounts or transactions.

Criminal and secret organisations

Explore secrecy, legality, cells and private agendas. Review public-profile fields carefully; secret visibility does not hide every potentially sensitive detail.

Orders, houses and movements

Prepare military or academic orders, noble houses, rebels and civic movements. Adapt hierarchy, succession and internal pressure to the specific setting.

Arcane and organisational cult types

Use these as institution structures. Magical capability is qualitative, and full doctrine, theology and religious design remain separate concerns.

Keep the organisation you accept

Bring people, resources and agendas into play.

Use the DM dossier as preparation and review the public profile before sharing.

This tabletop illustration is not exported application output or a generated map.

Revise the material you want to keep

Review retained sections alongside every new result.

Locks, scoped rerolls and editing help refine a dossier, with limits that require your judgement.

Use locks with full generation

Generate another organisation keeps locked sections while replacing unlocked material and identity metadata. Review retained text against the new organisation.

Understand scoped rerolls

A scoped reroll preserves ID, name, profile and symbol and locks other listed sections. Purpose is regenerated, and changed controls can leave names, bases or references needing repair.

Treat seed replay as limited

The seed works with an internal generation counter. Entering it alone does not reproduce an exact dossier; keep the accepted saved or exported result.

Review structured edits

JSON editing applies your changes without rebuilding the public profile. Save validation checks a small set of structural requirements, not privacy or every relationship.

Account records and audience review

Save the organisation you choose to use.

The existing DCC session connects manual saves to your VISINVOKE account.

Keep earlier result snapshots

Save updates the same record ID and retains up to ten earlier results. New generation usually creates a new ID. There is no autosave or offline fallback.

Search, reopen or duplicate

Search by organisation name. Open restores the result and saved locks, not form, seed or counter; prior-version opening restores only the result. Review nested names in duplicates.

Check what the public profile reveals

It includes known leader, symbol details and selected complete operation records. Review teams, locations and complications, especially when the organisation itself is secret.

Choose sharing and preparation deliberately

Copy the reviewed public JSON or full DM dossier. Download always exports the full dossier. Close editing before print preview; Combat PRO receives only one selected operation.

Quick answers

Organisation structure, revisions and sharing in plain language.

Understand the authored material, account records and audience boundaries before opening the tool.

What changes between Quick, Deep and organisation presets?

Quick exposes organisation type, scale, public or secret visibility, legality and ideology, with a shared seed. Deep additionally exposes wealth, military capability, magic, influence, structure, recruitment, age, public reputation, unity and counts for allies, rivals, internal divisions and operations. Quick retains previously selected Deep values; both use the same dossier structure. Six presets adjust selected controls for guilds, criminal organisations, secret societies, military orders, merchant leagues or rebels while retaining other values. Other types include academic orders, noble houses, arcane societies, civic movements and organisational cults. These are finite authored structures, not complete settlements, religions or individual NPC sheets.

Does this simulate factions, reactions or advancing plans?

No. It creates a static organisation dossier from authored names, roles, assets, relationships, operations and preparation notes. Scale changes bounded rank and base counts, while many controls supply labels or conditional text rather than a simulated institution. Plans list stages and a suggested progress position without automatically advancing. Relationships and names can need reconciliation, including repeated names across allies and rivals. Faction Response handles reactions and between-session turns separately; Campaign and Religion tools have their own purposes. Apply reputation changes, resources, time and campaign consequences yourself.

What do locks, rerolls and seeds preserve?

Generation uses the seed together with an internal counter, so entering the seed alone does not replay an exact result. Generate another organisation keeps currently locked sections but creates fresh identity metadata and unlocked material. A scoped reroll preserves ID, name, profile and symbol, retains the other listed dossier sections and leaves them locked. The purpose field is regenerated, and changed controls can make retained profile, bases, names or references inconsistent with newly generated material. The public profile is rebuilt after generation. Review the combined result rather than assume locks repair every relationship. There is no undo, redo or comparison control.

Are public profiles and validation guaranteed to exclude secrets?

No. The generated public profile omits dedicated secrets, goals, plans, internal divisions and the leader’s private pressure. It still includes the known leader and symbol details, plus complete records for up to two known bases and two non-smuggling operations. Those operation records include team, status, location and complication. Secret visibility hides bases, rather than every potentially sensitive field. JSON edits do not automatically rebuild the public profile. Save validation checks schema, minimum ranks, operations, divisions and nonempty public and secret goals; it does not prove privacy, reference consistency or narrative coherence. Review nested fields before sharing, especially for a secret organisation.

How do saving, earlier versions, duplication and exports work?

Save manually writes the account library through your DCC session. Reusing a record ID updates it and keeps up to ten earlier result snapshots; generating a new organisation normally creates a new ID. Search uses saved names. Open restores the result, saved locks and a selected combat-capable operation, without restoring form settings, seed or counter. Opening a prior version restores the result only. Duplicate changes the top-level name and ID; nested names can still need updating. Copy public profile exports its JSON; Copy DM dossier and Download structured JSON export the full dossier even when the public view is selected. Print uses the current rendered view, so close an open editor and check print preview before player sharing. There is no autosave, offline fallback, import, delete, archive or dedicated rename control. Avoid conflicting whole-library saves from several windows.

What reaches Combat PRO when I prepare an operation?

Choose one combat-capable guard duty, escort, raid or recovery operation. Preparation sends its objective, one abstract location, a generic team reference and a dormant complication to a saved Standard encounter. The team is a shell to configure in Combat PRO, not a complete roster with calculated statistics. Wider relationships, plans and dedicated secret fields stay outside this handoff; review selected operation text yourself. Combat PRO ownership and available saved-encounter capacity are required. Repeating the same organisation and operation ID is treated as a duplicate, including after edits. Preparation does not start combat, roll initiative or import existing HP, turns, logs or live faction state. Configure mechanics in Combat PRO and apply wider campaign consequences yourself.
